Molepolole
Geography and History
Molepolole is the administrative capital of the Kweneng District and home for Bakwena tribe. It was named after the Molepolole River and is Botswana’s biggest village with a population of about 70,000 people.
It lies 50 km away from the capital city of Botswana, Gaborone, and acts as gateway for exploring the Kalahari Desert.

Things to do in Molepolole include visiting the Debswana Diamond Company, which is a mining company located in Botswana and the world's leading producer of diamonds by value. It is Molepolole's main attraction and Botswana 's largest employer, employing 6000 people.
Molepolole is located within a short drive of some of Botswana’s best-known historical sites, including an interesting museum on the main road.
Lovers of archaeology and history would enjoy travelling to this wonderful place to have a first-hand experience. It gives one the feeling of entering an ancient village with all the trimmings of history.
