Mochudi
Geography and History
Mochudi is a town in the Kgatleng District of Botswana. It is one of the bigger villages in Botswana and one of the main tribes living in Mochudi is the Bakgatla tribe. Mochudi is situated about 37 kilometres North East of Gaborone, the capital city of Botswana.
Mochudi is named after Kgosi Motshodi of Bakwena in the 18th century. It is the main administrative centre for Bakgatla baga Kgafela. Mochudi was the home of Mma Ramotswe, the heroine of The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency, the Good Husband of Zebra Drive. Michelle Obama visited the village during U.S. President Obama's African tour in 2011.

There are many things to do in Mochudi, including:
- A museum which contains old photographs and historical texts concerning Mochudi and the history of the Bakgatla people
- Mochudi is known for its traditional painted houses and still has a traditional Kgotla (tribal meeting place)
- Dutch Reformed Church, built in 1904
