Geography and History

Hukuntsi is a village located in the Kgalagadi District of Botswana.

The word “Hukuntsi” means "many corners" and is named for its status as one of the four major villages in its region of the Kgalagadi Desert. It is situated about 114 kilometres from Kang, a village in Botswana, off of the highway. The majority of people living in Hukuntsi are the Bangologa people. Hukuntsi is home to the Rural Administration Centre for government offices and is the headquarters for the Kgalagadi North Sub-District.

Weather in Hukuntsi varies- chilly nights in the winter and very hot days in the summer.
